Game of Thrones S6E1 Review

GoT S6E1 Scorecard

Spoilers Ahead

Game of Thrones is back with another season, and what are start to the it was! Except not really.  Cards on the table, this episode was pretty boring.  Everything picked up from where it ended off last season. The episode was pretty bland with it mostly consisting of boring dialogue that did little to progress the story. The opening shot is exactly how last season ended, with Jon Snow’s body (que the Jon Snow theories) laying on the snow in Castle Black.

Well shit.
Well shit.

The only high action parts of the whole episode were a chase scene involving Theon and Sansa that anyone could have guessed the outcome to, and a few loyal men to Jon Snow protecting his body from those who “betrayed” him.  The assumption is that the men intend to burn his body (Jon Snow theories intensify). The episode touched base on most major plot lines but did barely anything to build on them. The episode ended by teasing fans with a Melisandre storyline that hasn’t happened yet in the books. Take that book readers!

Something something Reek.
Something something Reek.

Overall it wasn’t the most exciting episode but we can relax, it’s only the first episode of the season and hopefully things will pick up.  What did you think of the episode?  Do you have ridiculous Jon Snow theories?  Sound off in the comments.
