Spider-Man Review

Ah I love a good exclusive.  After a tremendous amount of hype and a few missing puddles, Spider-Man has finally graced the PS4 and goody goody it’s excellent.  Insomniac truly outdid themselves with this game featuring your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.  Everyone holds up Spider-Man 2 or Ultimate Spider-Man as the best Spider-Man game ever, but this has claimed the crown.  Gorgeous in design, Spider-Man has a beautiful art style and it’s recreation of Manhattan must be the best in the history of gaming.  The world created by the game is a truly interesting take on the universe, with all characters portrayed and acted to perfection.  Swinging around the city feels incredibly natural, and at the risk of saying the line in every other review written, does make you feel like Spider-Man better than any game so far.  The story of the game is interesting and flows well, if not a little predictable.  The game features a lot of different collectibles and shout outs to fans in the form of little extras.  The random crimes that occur around the city are good fun, but do get repetitive after a while.

Overall Spider-Man is the only real rival to God of War for best PS4 game of the year and even if you’re not a Spider-Man fan, you’re doing yourself a disservice by not picking this game up.  I mean it, I platinumed this sucker in a week, and it’s been years since I platinumed a game.  That’s how good it is.  Get it.

Justin should probably be in class right now. @JerstinRob
